DESCRIPTION
‘MASTERING OUR MIND’ is a handmade extract from the Samadhi handbook on the subject of becoming in charge of our own mind, think what we want to think. This process is personal as there are as many different minds as there are different people. So we must find our own way by trying out this and that. It is actually about finding that one practice that will truly bring us to inner silence. Most often we will learn to lock our mind into a combination of practices before being able to stay fully focused on just one meditation object. Be confident that anyone can do this and unconcerned about the fact that some are just taking a bit longer. Once we take up the tool of sustained practice, our mind stands no chance but to submit to our will. We feed our mind with the inner impressions of our meditation objects that will fundamentally transform its habits and dynamics. When we enter the phase of soft concentration also our Ego gets a true break and as a result, our lives will become so much more enjoyable. That is the whole point of course, to live the promise of life as a master, rather than to suffer it as a slave of our mind’s creative antics. And we remember that our mind very much wants to be our friend, make us happy, so we guide it with a firm yet loving hand.
This booklet is part of a series of small books extracted from “Samadhi – The Deep Meditation Handbook”, a two-volume work with over 600 pages on reaching the deepest states of meditation. Samadhi is the highest of yogic practices, a trance state where body consciousness is entirely lost and a gradual full merging with the Self is gained. It requires daily sustained meditation practice, supported by some major changes to our lifestyle, attitudes and desires. It is nevertheless everyone’s birthright, even when living as a householder yogi.
ORDER your copy in these outlets, where you can usually choose between an e-book and a paperback for all booklets that are Samadhi Handbook extracts:
The entirety of the yogic tradition is revealed as originating from the Self, bridging the illusion of a gap between nonduality and other practices.
The practitioners of yoga postures, breath, mantra, or meditation should not be confused about whether all of that is helpful on the spiritual path, or just some distraction produced by the ego.
